Yeah I love working on textured paper, I know you can get more photorealistic effects on smooth paper such as Bristol Board (which I do use) but textured paper somehow feels more fun to work on, less technical. The picture is A3 landscape Canson black pastel paper.

Well here is Darth Sidious, another A3 pastel drawing on black paper. Only got one more pastel drawing of Darth Vaders head left to finish now.

Thanks it was really awkward to get the colours right, I put so many layers of pastel on top of each other, thought it wasn't going to work out at all in the beginning. Would have been a good one for some WIP shots but I did most of it at the market on Sunday so couldn't take any scans.

yeah been drawing a lot lately, I don't really sleep much about 3 or 4 hours a night at the moment, should have another one finished tonight

Thanks, you can get some really bright srtong colours out of pastels even on top of black paper, I think its because they are basically pure pigment. It's drawn on black pastel paper Sena.
