Thanks Sinzi and Lianne, yeah its all from my imagination apart from the reference I used for the woman and I had a few landscape photos of northumberland that I used for a bit reference for the background. Painting photoshop is quite easy once you get the hang of it, its a lot easier than using real paint. I would recommend that you also get a graphics tablet though as its much more intuative than using a mouse to paint with.

I have a load of faves from the stock artist you used, oine day soon i will use them, i just need to find some good backgrounds! i want to do one with a castle 'balcony' and a beautiful view beyond but i think i might wait uuntil i buy some good paints

Thought I'd post a watercolour picture I did last year. Painting isn't one of my strong points, but it turned out ok. It was done as a present for my Kung Fu instructor who was celebrating 25 year anniversary of his kung fu club. The weapons are all weapons that he is trained to use.

No harder than with a pencil really you just use a very thin brush

Lol I can't do anything with a brush. I have no control over it. It's like having two left hands and I can't do anything with my left hand

wow keith you are so varied in your talents! i always enjoy seeing you've posted something new because its always a bit different from the last. you have a certain something as an artist that i cant put my finger on, but everyone of your drawings entertains me. i think with this one you can stare for hours at all the little details! you did a particularly good job considering i think watercolours are the most uncontrollable and difficult mediums you can use!! not only the technique but also the thought is really lovely, i bet he was over the moon with this, you've documented his career in a way. only one question - what do the chinese symbols mean?

Thanks Lianne yeah watercolours can be a bit unpredictable I had to have 2 goes at doing the coloured wash for the background, 1st oner went in the bin. He was very surprised and pleased when I gave it to him. The symbols represent the style of Kung Fu that he teaches Lau Gar Kuen, you can check out the website I did for the club here www.blythlaugarkung-fu.co.uk/You might even find a couple of pics of me there

Sort of there is a link at the footer of this message, Dragons Realm but it is way out of date, I am working on creating anew one at www.ktalbot.co.uk but don't have the time at the moment.
